D.C. Derrick & Associates was established in 1999 and has provided full service consulting for the commercial real estate market for over a decade. The firm provides real estate consulting services to both institutional and non-institutional owners including third party fee management companies on a wide range of services. Services provided include:

Interim and Full Term On-site Property Management and Portfolio Management of commercial office, industrial and corporate facility projects handling all aspects of on-site management, construction and engineering oversight.

 

Leasing, Administrative and Financial Auditing including review of tenant and ownership operating expense pass-throughs.

 

Operating Efficiency Reviews including cost reduction strategies, cost-benefit analysis and effective in place operating standards to optimize return on investment.

Commercial Acquisitions and Due Diligence Support as well as the managing and transfer of disposition of assets.

CEO Douglas Derrick

 

As the Principal of D.C. Derrick & Associates, Douglas Derrick possesses over twenty years experience in the real estate profession with extensive experience in both in the property and asset management disciplines.

 

He has had a proven record of accomplishments as a team builder and leader in developing new client bases both institutional and non-institutional. He brings to the table operational, marketing and sales experience in real property repositioning, acquisition and disposition and leasing of commercial office properties providing added value for clients. Mr. Derrick’s extensive experience in Crisis Management, Emergency Preparedness and Security assessment of commercial properties has placed him as a multi-skilled professional in assisting owners of commercial properties to achieve their full value as well as protection of their assets.

 

His educational background is as diverse as it is multi-disciplined in bringing innovative approaches to complex situations. He possesses both a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He has attended both the USC School of Architecture and California Polytechnic College Pomona as an undergraduate in the fields of Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. He has pursued international studies in the fields of design and international trade at Cambridge University, England and Qufu University in China. Mr. Derrick also holds the professional designations of Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management, Real Property Administrator from BOMA International and is licensed by the California State Department of Real Estate.

 

He possesses proficiency in most analytical programs such as Access, Excel and most Microsoft applications as well as most property management reporting and accounting applications. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, a skilled negotiator both in the public arena and in private industry as well as a creative forward thinker in providing innovative solutions to complex problems effectively implementing them to a successful conclusion.
